My Toastmasters Journey

Clarity. Confidence. Community.

I joined Toastmasters in June 2021 because I wanted to become a better speaker.

What I found was something more lasting the confidence to trust myself.

Through every speech, role, and leadership challenge, I’ve learned that the real power of Toastmasters isn’t in perfect grammar or polished delivery. It’s in the way it gives you space to grow, clarity to lead, and courage to be seen even before you feel “ready.”

How I’m Putting It Into Practice

This year, I’m stepping into roles that invite me to grow.

I’m not aiming for perfection I’m practicing clarity, intention, and a style of leadership that helps others feel seen and supported.
I’ve previously served full terms as VP Education, VP Membership, and as a Club Contest Chair each role teaching me something new about service, growth, and connection.

VP Public Relations – First Canadian Toastmasters Club #38

As PR Chair for a legacy club celebrating its 90th year, my goal is to:

  • Share our club’s rich Canadian history with pride

  • Help members feel seen, valued, and celebrated

  • Attract guests who are aligned with our values: clarity, growth, and real connection

  • Make it easier for curious professionals to understand the real value of joining our club

Area Director – District 21, Area J84

I serve five online/hybrid clubs made up of working professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

This year, I want to:

  • Create a sense of shared identity across the area

  • Support clubs in small but meaningful ways: clarity tools, smoother systems, warm outreach

  • Lead with a calm, supportive energy - not performance, but presence

Club Officer Trainer (2025–2026)

I believe good training isn’t about dumping information it’s about creating clarity, confidence, and direction.

This year, when I train club officers, my goal is simple: I want them to leave thinking,
“I know what to do next. I know who to go to. I’m ready to lead.”

Because great training doesn’t just inform — it transforms. It changes what someone believes they can do.

Where I’m Headed

I’m working toward my Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) designation but more than that, I’m becoming someone who:

  • Communicates clearly under pressure

  • Leads without ego

  • Builds spaces where others feel safe to grow

  • Turns ideas into action with structure, not stress

A Note to You

If you're new to Toastmasters or just wondering where it might take you - know this:

You don’t have to be loud to lead.
You don’t have to be polished to be powerful.
You just have to start.

Toastmasters has shaped how I show up in the world and I’m still growing. If you’re curious, I’d be happy to connect or help you take your next step.
